Tour Itinerary
Our most popular organised tour allows you
to visit the major sites in Western Turkey,
with loads of free time to get off the
beaten track and discover the undiscovered.
This tour also provides you with the option
of sailing on a Turkish gulet (yacht).
Day 1: Istanbul
Welcome to Istanbul where you will be
transferred to your hotel, located in the
heart of the old city, Sultanahmet. The
remainder of the day is yours free to
explore.
Day 2: Istanbul City Tour (B)
Tour the city that spans both Europe and
Asia, visiting the Blue Mosque, the Aya
Sofya, Topkapi Palace, the Underground
Cistern and the Hippodrome.
Day 3: Istanbul to Gallipoli (B+L)
One of the most emotionally and touching
places in Turkey, today we drive to the
World War I Battlefields of Gallipoli,
visiting Lone Pine & Chunuk Bair Memorials,
Anzac Cove, Johnston's Jolly, the Nek and
Gallipoli Museum.
Day 4: Gallipoli to Kusadasi via Troy &
Pergamum (B+D)
Step back in time today as we visit Troy and
its Trojan Horse, followed by a tour of
Pergamum, a magnificent acropolis with one
of the steepest amphitheatres in the world.
Its impressive temples, library and medical
facilities made it a renowned cultural and
political centre in its time.
Day 5: Ephesus Tour (B+D)
Absorb yourself in history today with a
guided tour of Ephesus. Walk down Marble
Road towards the Celcus Library and Grand
Theatre and immerse yourself into the
mystical atmosphere of the city halls and
stadium where chariot and horse races were
once held. We also visit the site of the
Temple of Artemis, one of the Seven Wonders
of the Ancient World.
Day 6: Kusadasi to Köycegiz (B+D)
Tour the magnificent white calcium
formations of Pamukkale, followed by the
ancient city of Hierapolis and a dip in the
hot springs, which were used in Roman times
for their therapuetic powers.
Day 7: Köycegiz Boat Trip (B+L+D)
Board a boat and cruise around lake
Köycegiz. Pass the Kings' Tombs, swim at
Turtle Beach or cover yourself in mud and
take a dip in the thermal springs.
Day 8: Köycegiz to Fethiye (B)
Leaving Köycegiz, we drive to the ghost town
of Kayaköyü, a Greek village that was given
up at the beginning of the 20th Century in
accordance with the treaty of Lausanne,
which saw an exchange of people between
Turkey and Greece.
Day 9: Fethiye (B)
Today you have a free day to do whatever you
like! Paraglide, swim, party, relax or take
a boat out to Butterfly Valley. The choice
is yours!
Day 10: Fethiye to Antalya via Saklikent
Gorge (B)
Saklikent Gorge, the longest and deepest
canyon in Turkey is 18 kms long. Cover
yourself in wet clay as you walk through icy
water and battle numerous small waterfalls
set in sculpted limestone canyon walls. Take
a tube ride down the rapids or relax on the
platforms.
Day 11: Antalya to Cappadocia via Konya
(B+D)
Follow the ancient silk trade route, while
heading north- east via Konya to Cappadocia.
Day 12: Cappadocia (B)
Enjoy a fully guided tour of this
fascinating region. Highlights include
Göreme Valley, the fairy chimneys and
Derinkuyu Underground City. Tonight there is
the option of a traditional Turkish folklore
evening.
Day 13: Cappadocia (B+D)
Free day! Perhaps hire a moped and explore
the hidden valleys or take a hot air-balloon
ride.
Day 14: Cappadocia to Istanbul via Ankara
(B)
Today we head north-east form Istanbul via
the capital, Ankara, visiting the Mausoleum
of Atatürk.
Day 15: Istanbul (B)
Tour concludes after breakfast.
